My next premium online class with Michaels is open for registration! Just in time for U.S. Thanksgiving, I’ll show how to make this decorative cutting board with vinyl on wood. This is a pretty popular use for vinyl, so I’ll be sharing all kinds of tips and tricks with both the Silhouette Studio software and the vinyl application.
Register here for this $20 premium Zoom class held on November 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. MT. The class recording will only be available to those who register. This design will be available for everyone the week of class (free from the Silhouette Design Store).
Class Description:
In this Premium class, I’ll discuss how to choose and prepare a wood surface so you can apply vinyl, how to create custom weed lines in Silhouette Studio, and how to cut vinyl on your Silhouette machine without a mat. In addition, I will demonstrate how to weed and apply a large vinyl design to the wood surface. Finally, you’ll get tips on basic floral design as you attach flowers and greenery to finish the piece. I’ll use the Silhouette Cameo 4 cutting machine in class, but you can use any model of Silhouette Cameo or Portrait.
In preparation for class, please sand and paint or stain your wood blank. Then use a spray sealer to add a couple coats to your painted or unfinished wood, preferably the day before class. If using the cutting board shape from Michaels, you can simply add spray sealer to the unfinished wood without sanding first.
